Meet "Cleebie" the Elf...also known as "Elf on the Shelf". If any of you have not had the joy of seeing this, it is the most wonderful thing, at least for my 2 children. Once you have given your elf a name, you place him somewhere in your home where he can watch the children. Each night once the kids go to bed, Cleebie flies to the North Pole and tells Santa if the kids were bad or good that day. Now the fun part begins when they wake up the next morning and have to go find where Cleebie landed (after his flight to the north pole). This morning Cleebie was in Parker's stocking! He has landed all sorts of places...the bathroom sink, the TV, the kitchen cabinet, on top of pictures...Cleebie is magical to say the least. It has been so fun to watch their excitement. I have been very surprised at how much Cambell has enjoyed him too! I thought he would be too little, but he looks for him every morning and says, "Clee". There is also a rule that you cannot touch Cleebie or he will lose his magic! It is a very nice tool to keep behavior in line (i.e. "remember, Cleebie is watching you and will tell Santa if you are not being nice!"). This is a new tradition for our family and it has been so much fun. I recommend everyone get a Cleebie of the own!

That is too cute! We too have an elf- and David named him "Charlie" because he loves the movie "Willa Wonka and the Chocolate factory". He always says Mommy, Charlie is a good guy. We love our elf tradition too. How neat! Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!
That is such a cute idea! We may have to try that next year!
We too have an "Elf on a Shelf." McCanless named ours "Elfie." (original, I know) She isn't too sure about him however. When she gets up in the morning, I try to encourage her to look for him, but she throws her head back with hands on her hips and says, "MOM, he is just a toy, and toys don't fly." WHAT AM I GOING TO DO!!!?? My baby is a teenager already. She also says that only magicians are magic!!!!
Whoops, above entry is from me!

Too cute! My cousins were telling me about their elves yesterday. Apparently they are also very messy and like to get into sweet treats....one got into the marshmellows and left trail through the kitchen!
