I was brave this year and ventured out with all three kids by myself. That seemed like a fine idea until the end of the day when Cambell wandered off and was lost. Yes, lost. Scary, big time scary. He was supposed to be in a jump castle blow up thing and I was about 20 yards away and turned my head to ask for a diet coke...at that moment he exited the jump castle and ran straight for the games. He wasn't trying to run away from me. He never even had a clue he was lost. I held my composure initially, thinking he was just in the next jump castle, and then the next, the next, ummm then nothing. I started to fully panic when I had to give a description of him to a Sheriff. My voice was shaking and my eyes were filling with tears at this point. Luckily, the church has a great safety net built in with every family having personal ID numbers and wrist bands that are checked at the gate. The gate was locked and the hunt began. He was found relatively quickly once all the radios started going off with his description. When I saw him I was so relived and so angry at the same time!!!! All I could do was scold him and hug him and then of course, make him go home for running away from me!! What a great (terrifying), fun (scary), wonderful (exhausting) day it was! Can't wait til next year.

Kidzfest 2010
Each year our church, Cornerstone Baptist Church, puts on a fantastic event for the community called Kidzfest. It is a great day of fun, food, and fellowship! Everything is always free, the kids have a blast and it is a great opportunity to hear about Christ.

If it makes you feel any better, I lost Preston (and he's my only child) in Babies R Us on Saturday for a minute or two. Someone was nice enough to return him to me before the real panic set in though! ;)
