Upward Soccer 2010

Cambell is playing soccer for the first time this year! He really seems to be enjoying it so far. He has already had 2 games and now looks forward to every Saturday morning for Game Day! These pictures are from his first game. He was a little nervous (I guess) for the first few minutes and had a very disgruntled look on his face. He basically stood around the rest of the team and refused to actually join in and play. When he came out of the game for his break time he and I had a little heart to heart (i.e. attitude adjustment) and he headed back out on the field with a smile on his face! The rest of the game he would give me a big "thumbs up" every single time the game stopped-which is a lot for a bunch of 4 and 5 year olds! I did not get to go to his second game because I was working but Chad said he had a great time (the entire time). I am thrilled that he is enjoying it. I love having him involved in something he enjoys, is centered around Christ, and teaches him how to be part of a team!!

Heading to the field...

The disgruntled look...

The coaches were really trying to get him to join in!

THUMBS UP!!!

Each child is awarded a star of a certain color to represent their accomplishments during the game (defense, offense, teamwork, Christ-like behavior, etc...). Cambell received Christ-like behavior for his first game!
