"Whiskers"
Meet Whiskers. Our new kitten. Unfortunately, our new kitten only lived at our house for about 2 hours. Roxy, our Bull Mastiff, thought it was her dinner and tried to eat her. Literally. We tried numerous times to introduce them to each other, hoping that Roxy would realize she was indeed NOT dinner, but no such luck. This little kitty was so adorable and I was so sad that we could not keep him. I wanted an outside cat to help the population of unwanted animals around here (i.e. snakes and mice). The boys were in love immediately, especially Parker. He cried his eyes out when he realized we were not going to keep the kitten. He actually called for a family vote to see if we could get rid of the dog instead! Ha! We tried to explain that Roxy has been with us for years and the kitten has not and we are rather attached to Roxy so it just wouldn't be right to get rid of her, but he did not see it that way. He was absolutely devastated when he lost the family vote. As a peace offering, I let them stay in the garage with the kitten for about 45 minutes and play with him until their hearts were content. This is when he got named "Whiskers". It actually suited him perfect. After letting them play, I reluctantly returned Whiskers to his original home (thanks Lauren!) and came home to 2 sad little boys. Not the way I hoped it would turn out but I did not want Whiskers to become Roxy's dinner so we didn't have any choice!
