Counting My Blessings...
I am always thankful for my children and their good health, but even more so today. Parker fell very hard last night and hit his head on the railing of his bed. He was running (in the midst of a small temper tantrum) and tripped as he ran into his bedroom and fell face first into the rail. He immediately had a knot on his head that was huge. It was the size of a small egg and the skin was broken. After two calls to the pediatrician office and me not being patient enough to wait for them to call me back, we piled up and headed to the ER. Chad was actually working and mom happened to be at the house. We dropped Cambell off at Chad's parents on the way and rushed in. All Parker could say was that he didn't want to get staples! Poor thing had staples less than six months ago and remembers it quite well! After a check by the P.A. that saw us last time she said he was fine. Apparently if they do not vomit or pass out immediately then it's okay! Of course, he has a concussion and we were told to watch him closely for any signs, but I am happy to report that he is doing fine this morning. As usual, he's up by 6:30 and watching cartoons in my bed while I get ready for work! I prayed so hard for him leading up to seeing the doctors that nothing "underlying" would be wrong and am just so thankful that all is well. Kiss your babies today because I know I am!!

Poor thing! I am glad he is okay!
So glad he is okay Lee! I know you were scared. Sometimes we know too much huh? I always revert to our neuroscience classes and freak out! I love watching and reading about your boy's I feel some relieve that someone else is living my life! Aren't these little boy's so fun and exhausting?!
Girl, I went through the same thing w/ Will. He fell twice w/in 2 hours on the same spot on his head. Luckily we have a doctor in our neighborhood who just happened to be walking by our house when it happened. He checked him and he was fine. It's enough to make a mommy crazy though! Hug those boys tight tonight. Hope to see them soon!
