The Wilkes Family: Fireworks Show

On Friday night, we went to Emanuel Baptist Church in Hartsville for their annual July 4th fireworks show. This was our first year but it won't be our last! We really had a great time. The weather, as everyone already knows, was just perfect for sitting on a blanket, having a picnic, and watching the fireworks show. We went a little early and let the kids play on some of the jump castles and Addie Grace took a pony ride. We didn't go so early that they got to do a ton of this which was probably just perfect! We grabbed some food and sat on our blankets and ate and enjoyed the show. Well most of us did. Addie Grace was not too excited about the noise. She clinched onto me and would not let go. She then got so worn out that she really wanted to sleep and was fussing because she couldn't because of the noise. Go figure. All in all, it was a fantastic night! Looking forward to next year already!

Cambell does this everytime he gets on one of these big slides. He wants to do it so bad and then panics when he gets to the top. You can't tell in the picture but he had the thing backed up with so many kids behind him that it was starting to lean a little....oops. One of the people in charge came rushing over and fussed and the teenagers running the line for letting too many kids go at once. They didn't know Cambell was going to slide down like a 90 year old man! He made it down and he did eventually smile!
