Coker Baseball Camp 2011

Parker has been busy the last few weeks with several baseball camps and he has had a blast! His enthusiasm and true heart for the game are inspiring. When I say he loves it, it is really an understatement. We always tell ask him if he wants to do a camp or a team or whatever it may be and he always jumps up with excitement and says, "YES, YES, YES!!" In fact, as I type this at 8:34 pm he is out in the yard playing ball with his Daddy. He's begged to go out and play all day!

The camp at Coker was wonderful! Coach Dave (head coach for the team) has the most amazing enthusiasm and love for the game. He genuinely wants these kids to learn to love the game. I was so impressed with him as a coach. He took time to teach them about character and respect. He showed them the proper way to stand for the National Anthem, taught them about respecting their parents, and controlling their tempers. He taught them not to curse or throw equipment, and to hustle on and off the field to show respect to your coach. The actual baseball skills he taught them were just as fantastic! This will definitely be an annual camp for him and hopefully Cambell too once he is old enough!

Working on catching fly balls.

Working on base running.

Working on the mechanics of swinging.

Learning to Bunt!! Tough at first but he's a pro now!

He had a malfunction in his socks the first couple of days. They were pinching him and he was about to cry it was hurting so bad....we made our way to the sporting good store for new and improved socks and all is well now!

Parker and "Coach" Johnathon. He's one of the Coker players that was there all week and he was great with the kids too.

Coach Dave gets the kids excited one more time!
