Tonight was such a funny night around our house. I actually got off work a little early today (5:00!) and Chad had already cooked dinner when I got home so I didn't have a ton of things to do like usual. We had a nice dinner, baked cupcakes just for fun, read some stories, and then played in the yard. Here's where the funny part starts...
One of the stories we read was Pinocchio. This was a first for the boys. We have gotten the movie recently but have not watched it yet. They enjoyed the story and not much was said. Later during bath time we were discussing who would let the water out (something that we rotate each night)...Parker told me it was his turn and I told him, jokingly, that he best tell the truth or his nose would grow. Little did I know I was about to start a riot in my house. I was trying to promote honesty (while lying a little myself!) and Parker was completely freaked out by the thought his nose might grow! He was on the verge of tears for 30 minutes and kept asking me, "Mommy is my nose growing? Mommy I DON'T WANT MY NOSE TO GROW!!" It was so funny that I tried so hard to keep a straight face and tell him that he just needed to always tell the truth...he persisted all the way to bedtime. His prayer included this: "God, is my nose going to grow? Oh please, don't let it grow God!" He also told me, "Mommy, you know people's noses don't grow in this world!" He's such a mess and so literal!
