Biltmore Trip

Chad and I celebrated our 7th anniversary on December 7th. We were lucky enough to be able to get a weekend to ourselves in Ashville and spend a day at Biltmore. It was such a wonderful weekend!!! Neither of us had ever been so it was a treat to be there, especially for Christmas. The place is amazing and decorated so beautiful for Christmas!! We went downtown for a nice dinner on Friday night, spent the day at Biltmore Saturday, had dinner at a "local" restaurant Saturday night, and stopped by The Grove Park Inn on our way out of town Sunday. That place is also very impressive! We are already talking about going back to stay there next time! It was a wonderful weekend!!! Chad and I rarely get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life with 3 small children and it was so nice to be able to relax and focus on each other for 3 whole days!!! We missed our babies but we didn't want to come back to the real world!!

As we arrived...

This was the biggest horse I have ever seen in person-and I've been around a lot of horses!!

Trying to stay warm with my hot chocolate!

A hand made leaf by the blacksmith...we watched him create this from nothing but a straight metal rod. It was fascinating! He was so interesting and talented. I was lucky enough to come home with one of his key chains. I say lucky because there were none in the store and he was selling them as he made them if you asked him! A great reminder of our fun day!

We met Santa!!! He was beautiful! The boys LOVED seeing this picture. We told them that Santa told us all about waiting anxiously every night for a report from Cleebie (our Elf on the Shelf) and that he said he expected to hear a lot more good reports between now and Christmas! Such fun!!

This was on our tour of the winery. We went to a wine tasting and saw how all the wine is prepared.

This was a "gingerbread" house that was at Grove Park Inn...doesn't look like any gingerbread house I've ever seen!!! They had an amazing display that were all this magnificent!

All lit up

Our self portrait in front of the house. It was FREEZING and we didn't want to miss the shuttle back to the car by waiting for someone to take a picture for us. We snapped this quick shot and took off running to catch the shuttle!
