Trouble Maker

I have a situation on my hands. My sweet little loving Parker is being a little devil at school!!! He apparently is not listening on most days and has spent plenty of time in time-out already! We are so frustrated with him. He appears to be thriving off of another child in the class and he does ANYthing that his little friend does, and of course, does it louder, meaner, and with more attention!

I warned his teacher on day one that he and this other child were the best of friends and the best of enemies. I was right. Parker continues to get in trouble for not listening, being disruptive, etc...He came home from school today with a "bad" report and I took away his four-wheeler, the privilege to ride the golf cart, and all TV for the day. This may seem extreme but NOTHING gets through to him!!! He is so darn hard headed. I also made him clean up the playroom by himself tonight. I am trying to teach him how important it is to listen to adults and it is going through one ear and out the other.

After all his "punishment" I was talking to him and telling him how I did not like having to take away his fun things, how I do not like having to fuss at him, how we have so much more fun when he is a good listener. Shortly after this talk, during prayers, I asked him if he remembered what we talked about. He says, "Mommy I promise with all my heart I will not let you down." Oh, melt my heart!! How can he be so bad and so sweet all at the same time!!! Lord, Help me!!!

Yes, Lee. Your boys are all "boy" and I just love that. How grown up of Parker to say that..how sweet!!

Girllll...I needed to read this today. I'm going through the same thing with Will right now. Even though he's 2, he's just as strong-willed. He doesn't listen, sasses all of the time, gets in trouble, yet tells me constantly that he loves me. He actually put one of his toys in time out today and said, "Mommy, he's in time out b/c he won't listen to me." Which tells me one thing...HE IS LISTENING TO ME!! Know that you are not along sister. Hope to see you soon!
