During my recent posts I discovered these pictures from June that I never got around to posting. The kids all took swimming lessons for about a month at McLeod Health & Fitness. I initially only signed the boys up for joint private lessons. My goal for them was for Parker to be able to swim above water (besides doggy paddle) comfortably and for Cambell to be able to hold his own and get to the side if he needed by himself. Cambell actually achieved this goal the weekend after his first lesson at my sister-n-law's house! Who needs swimming lessons when you've got Auntie? Ha!! The remainder of the lessons helped him get more confidence and safety in the water. I was very pleased with his progress. Parker was a little tougher student. He has a hard time relaxing in the water and allowing the teacher to work with him. He did learn the free style and the back stroke but could only go a short distance before he resumed his old faithful doggy paddle.
During our 1st lesson with the boys, the head of the aquatics program asked about Addie Grace and her taking lessons. I let her know right away that she was fearful of the water and would not let you get so much as 2 inches away from her. She suggested I bring her the next time and let her work with her. It was a great idea! She got very comfortable with Miss Jennifer and began to venture out a little. We bought her a new life jacket/swimmy combo that was the best purchase of the summer. She quickly learned to swim all over the pool by herself with her "swimmies" and just us watching! I am very proud of all of them and their hard work!
