Eventful Day...

Too eventful actually. Let me start by saying Chad and I are trying really hard to get into an exercise routine. We went for a run together yesterday and because he was working today, I went with Chase (our golden retriever) today. I chose a different path today because I wanted to stay on the sidewalk and on the main road-for safety, of course. Here's where the irony in that comes is...we were attacked by a pitt bull!! Yes, a pitt bull. We were on the side walk at the edge of town approaching a car lot/mechanic place. I never saw it coming. Before I knew it, the dog was on top of us. Chase was so good and got between me and the other dog. The dog went for his neck several times and drug us into the road! Cars were going by blowing the horn and I was screaming for help. This nice man stopped his car to help me (no one at the garage/shop heard me apparently!)...the pitt bull finally started backing away a little as the man got out of his car. He asked me if I was okay and I told him I was but I was afraid he was going to come back and chase me if I ran. The man assurred me he would watch him, and Chase and I ran for our lives!! I called the Sherriff's dept and reported it and a nice officer came by the house and was going to tell the people to chain the dog or he would be taken! Whew, all this to burn a few calories! It was truly one of the scariest moments I can remember. I am so thankful I had Chase with me because he certainly protected me. Talk about counting your blessings!!

Oh my gosh, Lee! That is awful! I am SO leary of dogs anyway. That would definitely make me never want to be around a dog again that I didn't know! I'm so glad that your dog was with you, too! There is no telling what that dog would have done to you!

That is so scary and why I HATE pitbulls!! (Sorry if this offends anyone who likes them.) Thank goodness you had Chase (who is of the best dog species EVER!) to protect you! Next time, be sure to take some Chase and some MACE!
