I had to capture this to share it. This is how Cambell goes to sleep every night. He has in tow his TWO silky lambs (aka "yammy" in 18 month language, "lambie" in adult language) and his baby (aka "bay-beeee"). Originally there was just one lamb and it was Parker's complete with his name and date of birth. It was a wonderful gift he received from Melissa Simon and family after he was born. As much as I tried and wanted Parker to have some sort of comfort blanky or bear, he never really was too concerned about having anything with him at bedtime. However, lamb stayed in his bed with him or near him (along with all the other things I tried to get him to want to hold) for nearly 2 years. One day last Spring, I gave lamb to Cambell (mostly b/c Parker was being stingy towards Cambell). Little did I know it would be instant love! I don't think he has gone to bed without lamb since that time! I finally ordered a 2nd one to have as a back up while the other was being washed (or temporarily lost), however, as you can see, he just sleeps with both of them. I have to be very strategic in planning laundry around naps and bedtime! They are usually covering his face when he lays down. It used to worry me and I would sneak in and move them but he always puts them right back! Now the story of baby...he got baby for Christmas from Santa since he LOVES babies...about a week after Christmas he starting yelling for baby when he was drinking his milk and baby has been part of bedtime ever since! We don't go anywhere without lamb because when he gets sleepy he has to have it. So far we can leave home without baby-that is unless he sees him as we are walking out the door and then he makes it clear that baby is going too!
Kamdyn has never wanted anything to sleep with either. I, too, tried to get her attached to many stuffed animals, but to no avail. Campbell is so cute with these! Maybe our next child will like cuddly things to sleep with!
Noah was never attached to anything until the last few months he started asking for "Blankie" Sullivan loves his blanky too...Isn't it a weird phenomen that we want them to get attached to something just so we have to take it away?
