We celebrated New Year's with Chad's family at Melissa's house. These are a few pics from our fireworks with the kids. This was the first time we allowed Parker to hold a sparkler and you would have thought he won the lottery! He really enjoyed himself and did just as he was told with the sparkler. Unfortunately, I decided to walk behind him to wipe his face while he was holding one,and at the "perfect" time, he performed a beautiful circle move with the sparkler...um, can you say BURNT HAIR! He added a whole new layer to my hair! I had to wash it twice when I got home to get the smell out! All in all though, it was a good night. Chad and I were even awake to see the ball drop (which we usually aren't!).
This was Parker before the fireworks got started...waiting "patiently" for them to begin and making sure they were all readily available for when daddy could begin!
These are a little dark, but worth sharing...at the end of the night Parker was VERY tired and the dog was not so fond of the fireworks. Parker got in the dog house with Callie and was petting her so softly and talking to her like no one else was around. He almost fell asleep...his eyes were so heavy and his head was bobbing! When I asked him about it the next day he told me he was trying to help Callie go to sleep!
